Result 06/3/2010 Old Mancunians 1 - Bury GSOB 0

Lancashire Amateur League Premier Division - 06.03.2010
Old Mancunians 1 v 0 Bury GSOB 0
Bury's first game in 3 weeks was a tough away trip to Old Mancunians, a team they had beaten twice with a plus 7 goal difference prior to this match.

In the opening 15 minutes, Old Mancunians were able to pass the ball around well and in doing so created a good chance down their left hand side. Ryan McGee was equal to the shot, making a superb save to deny the opener. McGee was at hand to make a couple of top quality saves in the first half, while Bury created 2 chances worth noting, the first was a Spencer Woods header from 8 yards after Ben Williams provided a good cross from the right. The second chance fell to Stephen Wood in-front of an open net, only to see his goal bound effort cleared off the line, much to Bury's dismay as it was questionably over the line.
The score was 0 - 0 at half-time. In the second-half, McGee was again the busier of the two goalkeepers, making another couple of fine saves to keep out Old Mancunians. Bury did however have some opportunities of their own going forward, Wood and Woods upfront having efforts blocked and saved as Bury pushed for the match-winner. The game looked destined for a 0 - 0 draw until the final minute of the game when Old Mancunians grabbed the winner. A long ball up-field caused trouble in the Bury defence and the Old Mancs forward wriggled through on-goal to slot past man of the match McGee.
The score finished 1 - 0 to Old Mancunians. Next up for the Old Boys is Old Boltonians on Saturday 13th March at Buckley Wells, kick-off 2.30pm.
