Rochdale St. Clements 2 v 1 Bury GSOB
Bury were dealt a blow with this disappointing loss to rivals Rochdale, as they were made to rue some dubious refereeing decisions.
After 20 minutes, Bury were awarded a penalty when Stephen Wood was fouled in the box. Spencer Woods stepped up but his low shot was saved by the Clements 'keeper. Minutes later Clements went up-field and scored. The Rochdale striker connected with a good cross to head the ball into the net, off the bar.
Bury should have been awarded a second penalty when Ben Williams was clearly tripped in the area, but the referee waved away the protests. Bury did however get the equaliser when Will Purser set up Woods, this time to find the back of the net.
1-1 at half-time.
In the early stages of the second half, Rochdale re-claimed the lead when a set-piece was converted by a flicked on header. And despite Bury's best efforts, the game finished 2-1 to Rochdale.

Chaddertonians 2 v 3 Bury GSOB
A lovely flat pitch at the Lancaster Club played host to 2 teams aiming to gain ground on top-spot. Both teams knew that a fast paced, physical encounter lay ahead, despite this being their first clash of the season.
The opening 10 minutes belonged to Chaddertonians, as they forced Ryan McGee into making a couple of fine saves, to prevent them breaking the dead-lock. McGee had to be alert on a number of occasions and his efforts early on kept Bury in the game. After the game settled somewhat, Bury began to impose themselves on their opponents. Ben Williams opened the scoring with his 4th of the season as he pounced on a loose ball in the area; his brave diving header nestled into the roof of the net to give Bury the lead.
Spencer Woods made it 2 nil with 10 minutes of the half remaining when Derrick Aljoe played a superb through ball for him to run onto. One-on-one with the last defender, Woods found enough time, space and composure to drive the ball past the Chaddertonians 'keeper from 18 yards, to give Bury some breathing space. 2-0 at half-time.
Bury looked in control for large spells of the second half, but Chads found a goal with 15 minutes remaining; their midfielder's shot from the edge of the area took a big deflection and looped into the top corner of the net. With minutes left on the clock, Chads were awarded a penalty which they converted and this looked to have secured a point for the home side. However, the day and the points belonged to Bury when man-of-the-match Woods finished from a difficult position inside the 6 yard box, after some hard work to unsettle the Chads defence.
An important win for Bury and next up is Bolton Wyersdale on Wednesday 14th April, followed by Chaddertonians on Saturday the 17th of April, both fixtures to be played at Buckley Wells.
